Ty Williams Picks Up
URSS Win Number Two At the Motorplex
The Jetmore Motorplex once
again came to life as the United Rebel Sprint Series made
their fourth appearance at the Motorplex for Fan
Appreciation/Merchant Night. The fans in attendance were
treated to some great racing in all classes. When the night
was over, Ty Williams made his second visit to the Winners
Circle of the 2008 URSS Season
Liberal Kansas’s Ty
Williams led the field to the green and jumped to the lead
as Kirby Hagans, Keefe Hemel, Jeff Crook and Taylor
Velasquez rounded out the top five at the end of lap one.
C.J. Johnson and Brian Herbert were on Velasquez’s bumper as
they turned up the heat on the young driver. Velasquez
pressured Crook for the third spot for several laps and took
the position on lap four bring Johnson with him. Herbert
made the pass on Crook for the fifth spot on lap five.
Lap eight saw Herbert take
the fifth spot from Johnson and quickly take the third spot
from Hagans as slipped back to the fourth position. Lap
eleven saw Velasquez take the fourth spot back from Johnson,
up front Williams continued to hold the lead. Lap eighteen
saw Johnson pass Velasquez for the fourth spot and set his
sights on third place Herbert.
As the checkered flag flew
it was Williams picking up his second Feature win of the ear
with Hemel, Herbert, Johnson and Velasquez rounding out the
top five.
The Weld Racing Wheels
“Hard Charger Award” went to Dodge City’s Tyler Knight who
came from his twentieth starting spot to finish the race in
the twelfth position.
