Tanner Mullins Picks Up His First URSS Feature Win At DCRP

The Young Guns of the United Rebel Sprint Series just continue to amaze the fans and drivers night after night. The A Feature went 25 caution free laps, as Fourteen Year old Tanner Mullins once again took to the high-side to work his way to the front and grab his first URSS Feature win. Mullins is the fifteenth different winner in the nineteen races held this Season with the United Rebel Sprint Series.

Hugoton Kansas’s Barry Crane led the field to green and quickly jumped out to the lead with Taylor Velasquez, Craig Jecha, with Heat Race winners Brandon Fisher and Steve Dalton rounding out the top five. Eighth starter Mullins worked his way through the field and by lap three had taken the third spot from Jecha and set his sights on Velasquez. Lap six saw Mike Woodruff jump to the fifth spot as he began to pressure Fisher for fourth.

Up front Velasquez was pressuring Crane for the top spot and as the pair started to come up on traffic, Velasquez used a car being lapped as a pick and took the lead. Crane continued to dog Velasquez as Mullins drew nearer each lap. The battle for fifth heated up as Ray Seemann and Brian Herbert started to close the gap between them and Woodruff.

Lap thirteen saw Mullins use lapped traffic to make the pass on Crane and set his sights on the leader. Woodruff worked his way around Crane on lap twenty as Herbert grabbed the fourth spot from Fisher. Velasquez and Mullins battled lap after lap as they diced their way through traffic and on lap twenty-one Mullins took the lead as he took to the high-side and passed Velasquez.

Mullins never looked back as he wove his way through traffic to take the checkers and claim his first URSS Feature win. Velasquez, Woodruff, Crane and Herbert rounded out the top five.

The Weld Racing wheels “Hard Charger Award” went to Mike Woodruff who came from his eleventh starting position to finish third on the night.

The Keizer Aluminum Wheels B-Main was won by Mike Woodruff.
