The United Rebel Sprint Series made its debut at Ripple Ridge Raceway in Rawlings, Wyoming as an even dozen teams made the trip to the high country. Gypsum Colorado’s Judd Sheaffer made the most of his first trip to the bullring as he raced his way to his first ever URSS Feature win.
Sheaffer led the field to the green flag and jumped out to the early lead with Tim Perkins, Patrick Bourke, Jon Matthews and Levi Wisecup rounding out the top five. Judd’s lead was short lived a she looped his mount to bring out the first caution. On the restart, Perkins grabbed the point with Bourke on his heels. The pair raced for the point for the next two laps until lap four when Bourke pulled off to change a deflating tire under caution.
On the restart, Perkins once again took the lead with Jon Matthews in the runner-up spot. Back in the pack Sheaffer was making his back to the front after his first lap spin and had worked his way back up to the fifth spot by lap six. Sheaffer made his way to the fourth spot by lap seven and pressured newcomer Michael Anderson for the position and made the pass on lap eight.
Bourke had made his way back from his earlier tire issues to grab the fifth spot by lap eight and set his sights on Anderson and Sam Wisecup. Sheaffer made the pass for the point with Bourke making his way to the third spot on lap nine. Bourke made quick work of Anderson and took after Sheaffer on lap ten. Bourke caught Sheaffer and made the pass for the lead on lap twelve with Levi Wisecup taking third spot from Anderson on lap thirteen.

The pair battled for the next six laps until Bourke’s mount came to a halt in turn two ending his night. On the restart, Sheaffer once again took the lead with Levi Wisecup and Anderson in his tire tracks.
