7/29/06 FISHER WINS URSS VS JVSS 305 NATIONALS

Brandon Fisher from Ensign, Ks. made his very first sprint car feature win a big one as he captured the Straite Farms/Hilker Trucking URSS vs JVSS Sprint Nationals Saturday night at the Jetmore Motorplex in Jetmore Kansas.. With a full field of 24 cars that included 4 previous NCRA Champions, Fisher defended his home turf by taking the lead on lap 3 from polesitter Tyler Knight and then holding off an exciting last lap challenge from twelfth starting Brooke Boyd and 10th starting URSS Points leader Jon Johnson to claim the victory in the action packed event. "We picked a good time to finally win one" a jubilant Fisher said. Boyd, an impressive lady driver from Wright, Ks driving a new Maxim chassis used her laps transfering through the "B" main to find the high groove to her liking and used it all the way to the front only to fall a little short at the stripe.Following Johnson was Raymond Seeman and Brian Herbert. Dennis Park, Tyler Knight, Bart Boyd, Nick King and Justin Schwien rounded out the top ten. Heats were won by Johnson, Justin Schwien and Seeman with Bart Boyd beating daughter Brooke to the checkers in the "B" main. The URSS will meet the JVSS regulars next on nuetral grounds in LaCrosse Ks on Saturday, August 5th. The following weekend the Rebels will travel to Hutchinson Raceway Park in Hutchinson, Ks. on Friday the 11th and return for their second visit at the Rolling Plains Motor Speedway in Hays Kansas on Saturday, Aug 12th.
