Jeremy Lueck Picks Up First URSS Feature Win at Hayden Speedway
The United Rebel Sprint Series made its first appearance at the Hayden Speedway with ten teams making the pull to do battle on the ¼ mile bullring. Craig Colorado’s Jeremy Lueck made the most of the first night out of the 2009 URSS Season by capturing his first URSS Feature event win.
Craig Colorado’s Jon Matthews led the field to the green flag but it was teammate Jeremy Lueck who jumped out to the early lead with Tim Perkins, Blake Bogenhagen, Patrick Bourke and Levi Wisecup rounding out the top five at he end of lap one. Bourke took the third spot from Bogenhagen on lap two and set his sights on second running Perkins. Perkins and Bourke continued to battle for the runner up spot until lap eight when the caution flew for a three car tangle in turn two which collected Perkins, Bourke and Mike Parker ending Bourke and Perkins night.
On the restart, Lueck once again jumped out to the lead with Bogenhagen and Levi Wisecup in tow. Gypsum Colorado’s Judd Sheaffer had made his way through the field to challenge Wisecup for the third spot by lap ten. Lueck continued to hold his lead over Bogenhagen, as Wisecup and Sheaffer battled for the third spot.
Lueck held the point as the laps wound down with Bogenhagen giving chase, behind them Wisecup and Sheaffer continued to duke it out for the third spot. As the checkered flag fell it was Lueck picking up his first URSS Feature win with Blake Bogenhagen, Levi Wisecup, Judd Sheaffer and Jon Matthews rounding out the top five.
