Patrick Bourke Nabs URSS Win at Diamond Mountain Speedway

The United Rebel Sprint Series made their final appearance at the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal Utah Saturday evening with eight teams making the trip. The action was fast and furious on the ¼ mile bull ring with the Rebel Sprints setting a new track record. When the checkered flag fell it was Gypsum Colorado’s Patrick Bourke taking the win.

Jon Matthews led the field to the green flag but it was Mike Parker taking the lead. Parker opened up his lead to almost a full straightaway in the first four laps and in the process set a new track record at the Diamond Mountain Speedway. On lap five Parker had the throttle stick wide open on his mount sending him into the front stretch wall and flipping several times ending his night.

On the restart Patrick Bourke took the lead from Tim Perkins and was never challenged. He best battle of the night was between Jeremy Lueck, Jon Matthews and Levi Wisecup. Lueck made his way up to third place Judd Sheaffer and briefly pressured Sheaffer for the spot. Lueck fell back a spot and battled with Levi Wisecup of the position. Wisecup had made his way up to the top five from his last row starting spot.

As the laps wore down, Bourke sailed to his fourth URSS win of the 2009 Season with Tim Perkins, Judd Sheaffer, Levi Wisecup ad Jeremy Lueck rounding out the top five.

The Keizer Aluminum Wheels “Hard Charger Award” went to Patrick Bourke who came form his eighth starting spot to grab the win
