Ty Williams Picks Up URSS Win At Lexington Nebraska

The United Rebel Sprint Series came to the Dawson County Raceway for the first of three races at the 3/8’s mile oval. The URSS Series has held seven races this season and has not had a repeat winner and the Rebels on hand were looking to extend that streak. When the dust settled it was Ty Williams picking up hi second Feature win of the season.

Hill City Kansas driver Jeff Radcliffe jumped to the early lead with Jared Kern, Jordan Randels, Darren Berry and Shawn Radcliffe rounding out the top five. The caution flew on lap three after Ransom, Kansas driver Reed Bernbeck broke something on his right rear wheel, causing him to spin on the front stretch. Craig Jecha of Timken, Kansas damaged his car avoiding the spin and hitting the inside guardrail, ending both of their nights.

On the restart Ray Seemann of Jetmore, Kansas moved up to the runner-up position relegating Kern and Randels to the third and fourth positions. Seemann wasted no time in taking the point from Radcliffe on lap four and opened a large lead over Radcliffe. Ty Williams had made his way to fifth spot by lap four and set his sights on the leaders. Williams made his way to the runner up spot by lap six but was over two-and-a-half seconds behind Seemann.

Seemann continued to hold the point but Williams was making up ground on the leader. Darren Berry had made his way into to the third spot by lap ten and soon Radcliffe was being pressured by Zach Blurton. Blurton took over the fourth spot on lap fourteen. With six laps to go, Williams had worked his way within striking distance of Seemann. On the next lap, Seemann’s car pushed through corner one, allowing Williams to drive his way underneath Seemann and take the lead.

When the checkered flag fell Williams became the first driver to have two A Feature wins on the season for the URSS. Seemann settled for second place, Darren Berry, Zach Blurton and Jeff Radcliffe rounded out the top five.

The Keizer Aluminum Wheels “Hard Charger Award” was picked up by Ray Seemann who raced his way from ninth place starting spot to finish in the second position.
