Zach Blurton wins 2nd night of The Steve King Memorial
Zach Blurton, the hometown hero from Jetmore, Kansas won the final night of the Steve King Memorial at the Great American Dirt Track in Jetmore Ks on Sunday night, the 2nd night of racing for the URSS Rebels.
Lance Davis started on the pole and led for 8 laps until hitting a car driven by Kaden Taylor who had spun in turn 2, putting Davis’s car out of the race for the night as well as Taylor’s. In the meantime, Blurton, who started 5th, had battled his way up to 2nd, and inherited the lead on the re-start. Blurton continued to hold the lead until 10th starting Jeff Radcliffe worked his way up to Blurtons rear bumper. As the two sliced and diced through lapped traffic Radcliffe would dive underneath Blurton going into 3 only to slide up and Blurton driving back past him out of 4. The two would continue their battle until the checkers dropped with Blurton beating him to the checkers. Ty Williams would finish 3rd with Brian Herbert coming from 11th to 4th and Raymond Seemann rounding out the top 5. Colorado’s Mark Walinder would claim the Keizer Wheels Hard Charger honors after starting 15th and finishing 6th
