Bob Schaeffer holds off field for URSS win

FORT MORGAN, Colo. — It's always good to get that first win of the season, and that's just what Bob Schaeffer was thinking Saturday night.

Schaeffer won his first United Rebel Sprint Series feature of the year at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, Colo.

While Schaeffer took the top spot, he was followed by teenager Jake Bubak, who has put together one of the best seasons in the series this season. The second-place finish kept a solid season going for Bubak.

Mark Walinder had one of his best runs of the season, too, finishing third, while Judd Sheaffer was fourth.

Reed Bernbeck made the long haul to Colorado and took fifth, with Jeremy Lueck in sixth and Brian Hardman in seventh. Mike Anderson, Tim Perkins and Butch Hardman rounded out the top 10.

The Keizer Aluminum Racing Wheels Hard-Charger Award went to Brian Hardman, who started 15th and finished seventh.
