URSS Sprint Car Driving Seminar
Are you an Experienced Racer looking to join the fastest growing Sprint Car Series in the Country or are you an avid race fan and wondered what it would be like to experience the thrill of pitching one of these fire-breathing rockets into the corner? The United Rebel Sprint Series is offering you an opportunity to see, hear, smell and feel the excitement of driving an actual URSS Series Sprint Car in a safe and controlled learning environment.
The URSS is offering a full one-day Driving Seminar at I-76 Speedway in Fort Morgan, Colorado on Saturday, October 23rd, 2009 with the URSS Series Founder Rick Salem as the featured instructor. This one day program will give drivers the experience with classroom training to help you understand the technology of a Sprint Car and actual track time in a fully race prepared URSS Sprint Car with one on one driving instructions during two on track sessions at I-76 Speedway. Four of the best URSS Sprint Cars will be on hand to provide the attendees the opportunity to experience the thrill of these awesome racecars.
The Driving Seminar will consist of a morning session in a classroom setting where the participants will be given instruction on the basics of Sprint Car racing. Lessons on driver safety, starting procedures, basic car setup and weekly maintenance will be thoroughly explained. Classroom instruction will also include lessons in driving techniques to learn how to power the car through the corners just like the Pro’s. This classroom workshop will give you the basic knowledge needed to become more familiar with these amazing machines and get you ready for the on track part of the program.
After a short break, the participants will take to the track individually with each driver taking part in the first of two driving sessions on the race prepared 1/4 mile I-76 Speedway. Drivers will take their first 5-lap session around the high-banked clay oval with URSS Officials overseeing your driving experience and Series Instructors evaluating your driving performance. Each driver will then get a one on one evaluation of their session and will be given tips and pointers and answers to any questions to improve upon their driving skills. After the evaluations, all of the participants will hit the ¼-mile oval for a second 10-lap driving session. Drivers will once again be given assessments on their driving skills and be offered advice and tips to further improve what they have learned.
Sunday, October 24th is being reserved in case of inclement weather for the Seminar. Last year this Seminar filled up within a matter days, so if you are interested in participating in this event do not delay.
The cost for this URSS Sprint Car Seminar is $300.00 per person and will be limited to the first 50 Drivers to register. Drivers are asked to bring their own fire-suit, helmets and other related safety equipment or borrow a set from a fellow racer. This is an excellent opportunity and the experience of a lifetime for anyone just wanting to feel the thrill of driving a full size sprint car. It will also prove extremely valuable to all interested racers in the area to have their questions answered about the series and to get actual seat time in a URSS Sprint Car before deciding to move up to the most affordable Sprint Car class in the Country.
